Once upon a time, a couple of Forrst users self-organized an informal app contest. It was slated to run for 1 week, after which I was supposed to anoint one of the apps Winnar of the Contest™.
Well, it’s run a tad a bunch of weeks longer than that, mainly because I’ve been swamped getting Forrst ramped up as my full-time thing, so I’ve decided to highlight all of the neat apps people made.
So, without further ado…
Joel Monegro — Redo
“Redo lets you make reusable and shareable to-do lists.
All you have to do is create a list and bookmark and/or share the
link. Redo saves your progress locally using a cookie, and is refined
by a light touch of colorrific awesomeness.”

Shaun Chapman — 0to255
“Web designers work with colors every day. Usually, a designer will start with a color they want to use. Then they have to alter it–make it brighter so a button pops out when a user puts their mouse over it, make it darker so an element contrasts with surrounding elements, and other variations to make the page more interactive. It’s the subtle details like these that users use to subconsciously judge the quality of a page. 0to255 makes this a snap for web designers. All they have to do is pick a color and 0to255 will display a bunch of variations of that color from black to white. They can then copy the color they want to use with one click and paste it in their stylesheet or Photoshop. It’s fun, simple, and extremely useful.”

Honorable mention: Michael Evans is working on a pretty dope podcast management app. I’ll update this post when there’s more to see.
Awesome work, guys!
