The state of Forrst

Forrst came online on January 25, 2010, and in less than two months has already grown into something truly amazing. The people in the Forrst community are both talented and helpful, and I’ve seen some pretty incredible content come through my dashboard. I can’t count the number of great discussions and peer feedback I’ve seen, too.

However, at the end of the day, Forrst is still a very young product. It’s admittedly somewhat difficult to discover and track the people and posts that you care about and find interesting, and the UI definitely needs some love.

So, with all of this in mind, I’m doing a few things over the next 4 to 6 weeks:

  • Suspending the daily signup window; I need to stay heads-down on improving and scaling the product, and while I’m totally thrilled at the overwhelming interest in Forrst, I need to cap the number of users for now.
  • Working with an amazing designer to overhaul the user interface and tune the user experience
  • Building a bunch of neat tools that will help you to discover and consume content and people that are interesting to you.

I am humbled at how the Forrst community has grown so far, and I thank all of you for your patience as I continue to improve the product.

I’m available at kyle AT forrst DOT com if you have any questions or concerns.

Thanks, Kyle
